December 7th-11th
Happy Monday everyone! **WARNING** Christmas info overload! lol :)
The OES penny war will officially kick off tomorrow, and we will be collecting spare change to donate to the United Way. Each class is competing against one another to see who can bring in the most money! The class who brings in the most will win a pizza party!
In the years past I have held a very, very simple secret Santa gift exchange in my classroom. We do it the day before we go home and it is always a great time! I would love to do this again this year if you all would be okay with that! My requirements are that it has to be something no greater than $5.00 in value. Some suggestions I give are a small pop and candy from the station, or a cool item ($5.00 in value or less) from home that they no longer want...a book to pass on or some trinket. These have always been a hit! I hope this is not a hassle for anyone, the kids really love doing this and we play a fun white elephant game while opening them that last day! Please email me with any questions you may have. I will have the kids draw names later this week! Please have them bring them wrapped, and hold off on sending these in until next Friday!
Next week we will not have a spelling test, or do any work from our Journeys book. The OES staff has planned a few fun days towards the end of the week, and we will be wrapping up a few projects of our own. Normally we pair up with the preschoolers to help them make gingerbread houses, however this year that is out. I know the kids still really want to do this, so I was in hopes that each kid could bring in one item to donate to a class pile and we could decorate our own gingerbread houses to take home. I would need probably 4 or 5 kids to bring in one box of graham crackers, a few to bring in frosting and the rest some random candy. Then each kid will get their own plate of goodies to use to decorate. I will send out a google sheets so you can see what all is being brought in. If you would not mind signing up for one item I would be so grateful !! Thank you for helping make this holiday season fun for us in the classroom.
I think this is all I needed to pass on this week! Below are a few pictures from when we did a hand washing lesson last week when the K-State extension ladies came in.
Have a wonderful week!
