Hello, and happy Monday! This last month and a half of school is filling up quickly with testing and activities!

 

First things first, testing...I will be sending a note home on Friday of this week with all of our testing dates on it! However, below are the dates we have locked in.

 

Tuesday April 27th-Math State Assessment

Wednesday April 28th-Reading State Assessment

Thursday April 29th-Math State Assessment

Tuesday May 4th-Reading State Assessment

Thursday May 6th-Science State Assessment

Tuesday May 11th-Science State Assessment

I know this is a lot!! It got really tricky scheduling around field day, field trips and also me not really wanting the kids to test on a Monday or Friday! We will also have DIBELS testing on May 3rd and our Spring MAPS test will be a few weeks down the road, then we will be DONE with testing!!

Something that I have always done in the past, that the kids seem to LOVE is ask that parents write TWO encouraging notes to their kids to open and read the morning before their assessments. There is no greater encouragement they can get than from YOU, who they love the most! If I do not get two for each student, I will write them two. My former students  LOVED opening these and reading a short note of encouragement before embarking on an important test. It gives them a special boost I think! I only ask that you do NOT tell them what is inside the envelope, and please send them in separate envelopes!  It is a wonderful surprise for them! We will open one each day before our reading assessment! You can just tell them it is something for me, but please put their name on the outside of the envelopes!! Thank you so much in advance for doing this for them. I know  they will love it! :)
