Hello parents!! Welcome to our 5th grade classroom web page!! I will be posting a lot of pictures each week, as well a keeping you informed and up-to-date on things that are happening in our classroom. I have had a wonderful first few days with this group! They are an amazing class, and I can tell they will be so much fun to work with this year! 

 

I appreciate all of you that were able to come out to our open house. Hopefully I was able to visit with you briefly. If you were unable to come, please look for a quick reference flip chart that I sent home with your student. It has essential info that you may need to refer back to throughout the year! The kids started our Word of the Day words last week, and will need to start looking those over once a week.  That info is also in the flip book, but they know what they are to do!  This week we will be starting our first unit in Journeys, and also have our first spelling test. I have every single word list for the year posted on this site under the "resources" tab, along with all of the word of the day words, if your student should ever forget their list and need to look it over. These lists will also be in Google Classroom. I think that is about it for this week! I will be sending you an email every Monday with the link to this page. Please try and jump on to read it as I will usually list projects and homework on here. This will be my primary form of communication with you, as I will not be sending home a hard copy of a weekly update.

This year there will not be a lot of graded pass backs coming home with your student. 99% of everything we do will be completed, submitted and graded in Google Classroom. If you are not able to get into Infinite Campus, please call Karen in the office to get set up so you can monitor grades.

Lastly, I love taking pictures and you will find a lot on this site as well! We have done a great job of keeping "socially distanced" but the first couple days we did some quick team building games!
